CHVRCHES have released a brand new track entitled ‘Warning Call’ – their first single since the release of sophomore record, Every Open Eye.
The new song was written for the upcoming video game Mirror’s Edge Catalyst – a reboot of the popular 2008 game Mirror’s Edge. The new instalment is set to be released on 7th June in North America and on 9th June in Europe on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
The game revolves around a woman named Faith who lives in a dystopian future. The lyrics for ‘Warning Call’, written by the band’s lead singer Lauren Mayberry, are from the protagonist’s perspective.
In a press release, the band’s Iain Cook has said, “The sound of CHVRCHES’ music resonates with the minimalist sci-fi dystopia of the Mirror’s Edge world, and we feel that the song complements the drama, emotion and empowering themes of Faith’s story.”
