Southampton-formed band Delays have dropped a new track entitled ‘Karman Line (Sunrise Save Me)’ – their first single since the release of Star Tiger, Star Ariel back in 2010.

The new song comes after a message from the band yesterday (23rd May) which read:

“We’ve decided it’s been far too long since we last got to share some new music with you beautiful humans, so tomorrow we’ll hopefully be posting a work in progress called ‘Karman Line (Sunrise Save Me)’ and we can all put our hands in the air together again. Love Delays x”

‘Karman Line (Sunrise Save Me)’ was produced by Jagz Kooner, who has worked with Primal Scream and Oasis, and engineered by Tom Dalgety who co-produced Royal Blood’s debut LP.

The new track has a more pop-rock sound with its use of heavier, faster rhythms as the backdrop to Greg Gilbert’s smooth vocals. His falsetto tones are not as prominent in this track compared to previous songs from the band such as ‘Find A Home – New Forest Shaker’ lifted from their previous 2010 LP.

In 2012, the band went into studio to work on their next album, which would have been released in 2013. However, due to outside projects and familial responsibilities, the album has not yet been released. It is unclear whether or not it will be released in the future, considering that the new shared track has been titled a “work in progress” implying that the band are working on new material.
