Semi-mythical PlayStation 4 exclusive The Last Guardian, which has been in production since 2007, will finally be released on 25th October 2016.
The game was infamously first announced to be released in 2011 for the previous generation of console- PlayStation 3, before then being held back as a launch title for the PlayStation 4; which released three years ago. The developers have experienced numerous problems, ranging from internal disputes to major programming glitches and loss of funding, which put the game’s future into serious doubt.
The game’s quirky plot revolves around a young boy kidnapped and abandoned in ancient ruins, who befriends Trico, a mythical half-cat, half-bird hybrid creature to help him solve puzzles and traps to escape the ruins. It initially drew plaudits for the superb graphic style and unique nature of the game.
