As adaptations go, HBO’s re-imagining of the Michael Crichton cult classic is set to be stunningly beautiful and ominously creepy.
Created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the 2016 adaptation of Westworld grounds itself on the original film, whilst expanding the universe into something much more in-depth and conscientious than its predecessor.
It is currently unknown as to whether the series is going to solely base itself within the futuristic theme park of West World, or follow in the original film’s blueprint of incorporating the two surrounding worlds – Medieval World and Roman World.
The show also has a host of famous faces, including the likes of Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton and GTA V voice actor Steven Ogg. It will be produced by Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J.Abrams, Jonathon Nolan and Bryan Burk, with Nolan directing the pilot episode.
Westworld is set to arrive on the small screen this October, airing on HBO in the US. HBO Canada in Canada and Sky Atlantic in the UK. Watch the trailer below:
