Kit Harington, best known for playing Jon Snow in HBO sensation Game of Thrones has today revealed he once fell asleep during filming the political fantasy warfare drama.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Harington lifted the lid on a number of interesting topics, including the infamous reincarnation scene, which required “thousands upon thousands of takes.” Specifically, Harrington said “They [the producers]wanted that over and over again”, admitting he went as far as “I had to kind of say, ‘I don’t know how else to do it now, guys.”
Harington also spoke about the difficulty of ‘playing dead’, recalling: “I was lying down for so many hours for two whole episodes.” He added: “I fell asleep in the middle of a scene and woke up, and you know when you wake up you don’t quite know where you are? There’s nothing scarier than waking up in the middle of Game Of Thrones world – naked and everyone standing over you – and you go, ‘Oh my God, I’ve died and I’ve actually ended up in Westeros.”
He also rather humorously discussed how he got the part, attributing his black eye gained in a fight outside McDonalds to helping him quipping “I think that man who’s punched me in the face may have helped me get the job”, before saying “So if you’re watching, thank you!”
Harington, whose character’s dramatic death at the end of series 5 kept everyone guessing if he would return for the sixth series (he was reincarnated early in series 6) is set to star in Game of Thrones’ seventh season, to be broadcast next year. Watch the trailer for the sixth series finale below:
