Jennifer Saunders, co-creator and writer of hit television programme Absolutely Fabulous, has said that a second Ab Fab film is sure to be made if the first proves to be popular.
Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie hits the big screen on the 1st July, 26 years after the show’s debut on BBC One. Written by and starring Saunders, along with co-star Joanna Lumley as the heavy drinking and drug-abusing Eddie and Patsy, the film comes after a long and endured process of rumours, doubts and rewrites.
Saunders first stated her interest in bringing the acclaimed programme to the big screen back in 2011. The film has roped in a multitude of celebrity cameos, including Rebel Wilson, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne.
On the prospect of a sequel being made, Saunders said “we’re doing it again, certainly. I want this again” despite the first not being available to watch until tomorrow.
