Futuristic themed Bestival promises to deliver unadulterated madness and good times until the very last second for the final festival of the season. Adding to the already star-studded line-up, Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul will take to the main stage on Sunday night to end the weekend with a bang.
Speaking of the new headliners, Bestival curator Rob da Bank said: “We love a big finale at Bestival, we also love hip-hop and dancehall and a massive soundsystem superclash between Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul seems like a solid plan to close off another big weekend of music of raving, partying and expanding your minds at Bestival. Pull up!”
Other headliners already unveiled are Hot Chip, Major Lazer and The Cure, setting the tone for an out of this world experience encompassing all areas of the musical scale – from synthy, stripped back pop to old school dancehall remixed with sharp electronica.
Speaking about their upcoming performances, which happen to be their only UK dates this year, Wiz Khalifa said: “Can’t wait to be back in the UK and perform at Bestival. The fans here have such good energy, it’s going to be lit.” Sean Paul also commented: “I can’t wait to play at Bestival… I’ve heard the grand finale on the Sunday night is the best festival spot in the UK and I’m gonna bring the fyyyaahhh.”
Other new acts announced for the Sunday include Glass Animals and Crystal Fighters, whose tunes ‘You & I’ and ‘LA Calling’ have got to be up there with the most summery, upbeat songs to ever be performed. In addition to this, a tribute to the late, great Prince will take place. Headed by Rob da Bank and Tayo, the Purple Rave is described as a “truly spellbinding audio-visual” tribute to one of the greatest musicians ever.
Bestival returns to Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight from 8th-11th September this year. Tickets are available to purchase with student and weekly payment plan options here.
