The BBC hit drama Poldark has been renewed for a third series, despite the second series having not even being aired yet. The third series is set to air in 2017, whilst the second is due to hit screens sometime in the Autumn this year.
The show, based on the series of books written by Winston Graham, has been renewed for another ten episodes. Set in Cornwall in the eighteenth century, Poldark follows the trials and tribulations of titular hero Captain Ross Poldark, played by Aidan Turner.
Elizabeth Kilgarriff, the executive producer of the show said ‘ Series two promises to take the audience on another fantastic rollercoaster ride and we’re thrilled to know that the story wont end there.’
Aidan Turner, who has found fame through starring in the show, will reprise his role for the third series, which will be set in 1794. Eleanor Tomlinson will reprise also her role, as Poldark’s wife Demelza.
