Ah, San Diego Comic Con, the time of year when we get new trailers for just about everything… yeah, everything.
In amongst the many Marvel panels, the team from Netflix and Marvel have banded together, and have released new teasers for all their separate heroes shows, as well as a brand new teaser for the collaborative, The Defenders. This team is made up of Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).
The Luke Cage trailer, Iron Fist first look, as well as an announcement trailer for Daredevil Season 3, have all also been released during the last few days at the renowned convention.
The Defenders trailer, whilst not showing us any new recorded footage, uses graphic designs and intrigue through logos to hint at each character’s involvement in the series. Fans will notice the logo of Alias Investigations, headlines from the Daredevil series, as well as mentions of Danny Rand and Seagate Prison. As well as this, the official logo for The Defenders was released.
Daredevil has already aired for two seasons, and Jessica Jones has aired the first, via the streaming site Netflix, both to much critical acclaim. Luke Cage, the third series in the Netflix-Marvel partnership, is due to go online in September. The partnership has been widely celebrated, especially for its darker, grittier take on superhero narratives than its sister cinematic universe.
Marvel’s The Defenders is set for a 2017 release. Watch the new SDCC teaser trailer below:
