Justice League special footage drops at SDCC – Watch

After Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Zack Snyder’s Justice League would be doom and gloom on an even more epic scale. Yet although it’s almost 18 months until its release, from the footage screened at Comic-Con on Saturday afternoon, it would be very hard not to get excited.

Firstly, we know that Superman is going to be back. Along with this footage came a line-up photo of the Justice League, which included Henry Cavill’s Superman standing upright, and almost smiling, as if he was never stabbed in the chest by an alien cave troll. Yet with him nowhere to be found in this footage, we instead get a glimpse of what’s very possibly the most fun onscreen incarnation of Bruce Wayne and Batman ever. Bantering with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman; tracking down and gently smirking at Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry/Aquaman; the undeniable highlight of the footage, his recruitment of Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen. From the badass electric guitar accompanying the footage, to the literally electrifying shots of Barry using the speed force, this stuff looks fun and grand.

What we’re seeing here likely makes up less than 5 minutes worth of scenes from the film (which is still in production), but even just 5 minutes of this tone, this positivity, this sheer fun and coolness, is preferable to watching BvS again.

Justice League is released in the UK on 17th November 2016
