Union Southampton have just unveiled the ten events included in this year’s Freshers’ Master Pass.
Always a popular initial purchase when beginning University life, this year’s Master Pass is priced somewhat higher than last year, at £95.00 compared to last years which costed £80.00. However, the most significant new addition to this year’s Master Pass is that of highly popular Hampshire music festival Soundclash, which also last week unveiled its line-up.
In addition to this, the Master Pass contains the always popular Welcome Party (hosted this year by Radio 1’s Chris Stark) and Foam Party events, as well as the end-of-Freshers spectacular that is Freshers’ Ball. This year’s ball will be headlined by sets from Sigma, Becky Hill and Majestic. Some of the major off-campus events included in the Pass include the Bloc Party club-crawl event down Bedford Place, and the Switch Southampton Silent Disco.
Union President Alex Hovden also praised this opportunity saying: “This year Freshers’ Master Pass line-up is absolutely insane! We have 10 huge events that we are absolutely confident will give new students the best taste of Southampton nightlife possible! Old favourites such as the Welcome Parties and Bloc Parties are included, along with a new addition of Soundclash festival which would normally cost £40 for a ticket! Plus of course with the Master Pass you also get 10% off in Union outlets until Christmas. We always sell out of Master Passes so I’d strongly urge new students to head over to the Box Office asap for more details!”
Alex also teased potential future surprises adding: “I’d also encourage students to keep a close eye on social media for further announcements over the coming days!”
The Freshers’ Masterpass costs £95 and can be purchased from the Union Box Office. Tickets for individual events are also available.
