The Fall‘s Detective Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) is still clearly haunted by serial killer Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan), in the first look of the upcoming third season.
This season is expected to wrap up The Fall for now, however the show could see a return at some point in the future. Both Anderson and Dornan have expressed intentions to bringing the show back for a fourth season, with creator Alan Cubitt allegedly having ideas for the show beyond the current arc around Spector.
Dornan has stated: “They’re [the cast and crew]like family to me and I’m forever grateful for it to be a part of my life and, you know, I would play that character to my dying days if I had the opportunity. You can expect the unexpected. There’s quite remarkable turns in the third season that I really genuinely think people won’t see coming that are hugely exciting.”
Anderson and Dornan will be short of one favored cast-member and character this season, as Archie Panjabi will not be returning due to her commitments with ABC legal drama The Jury.
The Fall is set to return to BBC Two this autumn.
