The first full trailer for Fifty Shades Darker has been released today online.
The sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, and the second part of the trilogy sees the enigmatic Christian (Jamie Dornan) desperate to reconcile with Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). Ana is less enthusiastic about returning to the brutal BDSM businessman, insisting on ground rules that are not so much designed to limit him sexually, but more importantly trying to stop him going crazy once again.
As an interesting subplot, Anastasia also has to cope with Grey’s ex and business-partner Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger), who first introduced Grey into the BDSM lifestyle. Fifty Shades Darker is the second part of the Fifty Shades trilogy, which concludes with Fifty Shades Freed, which was filmed at the same time as Darker.
Despite the news this week that a fifth Fifty Shades story is in the pipeline, Jamie Dornan has already confirmed he has no interest in reprising his role as Christian Grey, a role for which he has been criticised. Dornan said: “We have done two movies back to back now, and I’m actually finished with it” before adding, “I’ve done Fifty Shades forever.” Dornan attributed his decision that “I move on very fast in my mind. As much as from the outside people think you are synonymous with one character, I’m very much like, ‘Right, that’s done’, and move on to the next project and worry about that character.”
Fifty Shades Darker is released in the UK on Valentine’s Day 2017. Watch the trailer below:
