Academy Award Winner, and environmental activist, Leonardo DiCaprio, will be starring in Before the Flood, a documentary investigating climate change. The trailer for the documentary was released by National Geographic Channel on Tuesday.
DiCaprio has co-produced and narrated the film, working alongside actor-director Fisher Stevens who produced Oscar-winner documentary The Cove, and executive producer Martin Scorsese who has worked with DiCaprio previously.
The trailer shows DiCaprio spanning the globe to gain a deeper understanding of the issue of climate change through speaking with scientists, world leaders, activists and local residents.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter DiCaprio said: “Fisher and I set out to make a film that not only educates people about the challenges we face if we fail to act, but one which also shows the solutions we can implement if we can find the political will to do so.”
Before The Flood will debut in theaters in Los Angeles and New York 21st October before airing nine days later in 171 countries via National Geographic Channel.
