After five long years with no new instalment of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the first teaser trailer for the sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has sailed.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales sees Captain Jack Sparrow come face to face with a new adversary, Javier Bardem’s Captain Salazar. This nefarious seaman seeks the death of every pirate on the sea and, the only way for the cunning Jack Sparrow to evade such a fate is to find the legendary Trident of Poseidon.
Beginning with a fierce battle between two ships that sees the slaughter of dozens of uniformed soldiers, the trailer also gives us our first glimpse at Bardem’s adversary, the ghostly looking Salazar who commands that Jack Sparrow be told: ‘Death will come straight for him.’
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales sees Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Kevin McNally and Geoffrey Rush all reprise their roles from previous films as they embark on this latest adventure. Other stars such as Brenton Thwaites, Golshifteh Farahani and Kaya Scodelario are also set to be appearing in the fifth film of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
