The University of Southampton Students’ Union television station SUSUtv is holding its first two events of the academic year next week, with opportunities to receive a tour of their studio and equipment, and to participate in an Ideas and Production Meeting.
SUSUtv is a student-run media group, and has a range of kit, from DSLR cameras and lights, to sound recording and live-streaming equipment freely available for members to use. There is no monetary charge for joining, but members must attend a basic training session detailing procedures for taking kit out, and preliminary camera use. A group session is being run on Tuesday, which any University of Southampton student may attend, regardless of whether they are already a member of not.
In addition, on Thursday evening, the station are holding their first Production Meeting of the new year. This gives members a chance to pitch new ideas, or sign up to productions already in progress. There will also be chance to meet the Exec Team, who are the producers responsible for all the video output, and the Head of Production.
