After months of waiting, Marvel Studios have finally released their first official sneak peek of the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The new teaser trailer gives fans a taste of the comedy, action, and stellar soundtrack that made the first Guardians film such a hit in cinemas whilst introducing some of the familiar characters that set it apart from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Set to the first film’s theme song, Blue Suede’s ‘Hooked on a Feeling’, we see the team of wannabe heroes in the aftermath of their daring battle for the galaxy from the end of the previous film.
We get little more than a quick glimpse of each character in this first look at the upcoming film, including the anti-heroes like Yondu and Nebula. The most striking bit in this sneak peek is the brief moment of camaraderie (and awkwardness) between Drax (Bautista) and Peter Quill (Pratt) in which the Destroyer asks, “Do you need a hug?”. Whilst this is little more than an introduction to what the highly anticipated sequel will be bringing to the MCU, it suggests great things and many adventures to come for the Guardians.
Along with director James Gunn directing the sequel to his 2014 summer hit, this film sees Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel reprising their roles as the epic space heroes we came to love in the first film.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to be released on 28th April 2017 in the UK.
