The latest trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was released last night during the 2017 Superbowl.
The trailer highlights two key aspects: firstly the Guardian’s new role as protectors of the galaxy from villainy, which will presumably come in Thanos-shaped form, and also the newest members of the Guardians team: Yondu Orontu (Michael Rooker) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff). The film is set to explore Starlord’s relationship with his currently unseen father, who has abandoned him all of his life, and Peter Quill’s quest to find the answers to where he comes from.
In addition, we get brief action shots highlighting the superb comic-book sci-fi action and violence which drew in so many fans of the first film, not to mention the customary Guardians dark wit and humour. The soundtrack once again is superb also.
