Following Octavia Spencer’s first time hosting, Scarlett Johansson will take over to host the American comedy show Saturday Night Live on March 11th, 2017.
This will be her fifth time hosting the show, making her an official member of a select few hosts in the Five-Timers Club (Saturday Night Live hosts that have held the role five, or more, times). Johansson’s show will feature the musical support of New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde.
Since the 2016 Presidential Election, Saturday Night Live has come under public scrutiny for its open criticism of the Trump administration. Johansson has been vocal in her criticism of the new President Trump and went so far as to make a speech at the Women’s March the day following his election. So viewers could expect to see Johansson get involved with some of the more politically controversial skits that have been seen in the past, and for which the show has become known since the inauguration.
