Netflix have held some early talks with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino, the creators of Gilmore Girls, leading to speculation that the show may be renewed for another series.
Since the four film-length episodes came out in November, fans have been desperate for more. Especially after THAT cliffhanger…
Featuring Lauren Graham and Alex Bledel as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, a mother and daughter who live in Stars Hollow, the show ran from 2000-2007 and followed their lives – from school to work, relationships and boat stealing. The creators left the show before the final two seasons, meaning they didn’t get the chance to end it how they wanted to.
Ted Sarandos, the boss of Netflix, said “The worst thing is to wait a couple of years for your favourite show to come back and for it to disappoint you but they sure delivered and people were really excited about more and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that”.
Bledel said future episodes would depend on the story and timing. More episodes might be difficult considering Graham and Bledel already have future commitments, Graham with 20th Century Fox’s Linda From HR and Bledel with Hulu/MGM TV’s The Handmaid’s Tale, but it certainly hasn’t been ruled out by them for now.
