Down’, which debuted at the top of the charts. The singer is now tied with Geri Halliwell for the title of Britsh female recording artist with the most Number One singles.
Speaking to the Official Charts Company, Rita said: I’ve just found out I’m Number 1 with ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ and it’s amazing! It’s crazy that it’s the fourth one! I’m honoured. I’m just so happy that my fans are so supportive because this is a special, personal song for me.’
The track was written and produced by Rita’s other half Calvin Harris, who topped the UK charts only two weeks ago with his track ‘Summer’. Speaking of Calvin’s contribution to the track, Rita added: “It was such a clear, easy song to do. There was nobody else involved other than me and Calvin. It all happened really naturally.”
Elsewhere in the charts, last week’s Number One, Mr Probz’ ‘Waves’ dropped to Number Two, John Legend’s ‘All of Me’ came in at three, Calvin Harris’ ‘Summer’ dropped two positions and came in at Number Four.
