When Damon Albarn and James Hewlett released Plastic Beach they stated that they had enough material for as many as 3 or 4 albums but since then we had seen no more of this wealth of music… until now. Released onto the world as a low key video on their Youtube page the new single, due for release on the 21st November, features Daley. The name of the single comes from a Japanese drum machine of the same name. Typically Gorillaz-esque the song is not one made for the dance floor or to be a smash hit like most other popular chart acts but instead induces a steady marching beat with rich smooth vocals singing over the top with classic Gorillaz ‘Star-Wars Podracer gone wrong’ synths which are more typical of Demon Days than Plastic Beach. Woven into the tune are the synths that are typical of other Gorillaz Demon Days tracks. Due for release in late novemeber it is more likely to be included in the B sides album that normally trail a major Gorillaz album. It probably won’t be hitting number one anytime soon but it is another Gorillaz masterpiece.

It’s a good tune but can’t believe they are releasing songs that aren’t on the album, it’s not like it’s been out long – seems a little cheeky.
At the same time, breathes a bit more life into the album!
