A powerful and emotional third release to build anticipation for the imminent fifth album.

Building up to the release of new album Night People on the first Friday of 2017, the third teaser from You Me At Six instantly stood out amongst the other new songs in a live context. The first ballad-type track they’ve put out since 2010’s ‘Stay With Me,’ ‘Give’ opens with slow and simplistic chords that escalate until we hear Josh Franceschi’s voice supported by a low backing track which emphasises his incredible soft vocal.

It isn’t until the chorus kicks in that the growth in Franceschi’s voice becomes more apparent – the gravelly tone in his voice is powerful, conveying so much emotion. It is this that makes it clear that ‘Give’ is one of their best songs to date, showcasing the best of their abilities as musicians with a perfect amount of upbeat rock in the chorus, an easy-listening melody in the verses, and a combination of emotional and relatable lyrics that separates the band from others in the same genre. Night People is shaping up to be their best yet.
