Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Justin Timberlake are the most nominated for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, which will be held in Amsterdam.
They lead in the nominations with five each, in anticipation of November’s ceremony.
Justin Timberlake is up for Best Male and Best Live, among others, whilst Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will be hoping to bag Best Video and the much coveted Best New. Joining them in this category are Bastille, Icona Pop, Imagine Dragons and Rudimental.
Classically, the most sought-after prizes are the Best Male and Best Female awards. Bruno Mars, Justin Beiber, Justin Timberlake, Eminem and Jay Z are up for Best Male, whilst Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez are up for Best Female. Miley Cyrus will be one to watch in light of recent publicity.
The UK & Ireland category is made up of Olly Murs, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, Rudimental and the massive One Direction.
Will Ferrell announced the nominations in character as Anchorman favourite Ron Burgundy.
