It has been announced that American rock band, Linkin Park, are going to be headlining 2014’s Download festival on the Saturday. This was announced on the Radio 1 rock show with Daniel P Carter in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The show tweeted:
So, @linkinpark are headlining @DownloadFest 2014 and playing Hybrid Theory in full! How about that?! — Radio One Rockshow (@Radio1RockShow) November 5, 2013
The band will play out the entirety of their debut album, Hybrid Theory, in a similar fashion to Muse’s set at Reading & Leeds festival in 2011 where they played the entirety of Origins of Symmetry.
This announcement follows on from Avenged Sevenfold being announced as Friday’s headliner a few days ago. The third headliner is yet to be announced.
Linkin Park have headlined the festival three times before, in 2004, 2007 and 2011.
Download 2014 will take place from June 13th-15th at Donington Park.
