The BBC has released an extended trailer for their hit crime drama series Silent Witness. The video offers viewers the chance to see what is coming up in the new series which begins in 2014.
Silent Witness is one of TV’s longest running crime dramas and this year’s series will be the show’s seventeenth. The drama, which regularly pulls in around 7 million viewers, will see a change to the previously established cast following the departure of Harry Cunningham (Tom Ward) in series 15 and the death of Leo Dalton (William Gaminaria) last year.
The new series will debut as part of BBC One’s Christmas schedule. The story will star Gossip Girl‘s Hugo Becker as a footballer involved in a sex-tape scandal that becomes linked to the death of a young woman.
This Christmas the BBC has offered viewers a number of new prime-time dramas including Death Comes to Pemberley, the third series Sherlock and an adaptation of The Thirteenth Tale.
Silent Witness begins on 2 January on BBC One and BBC One HD. Watch the trailer below.

What is the music/song to go with this trailer, it’s beautiful?
What a load of complicated rubbish, way below the standard of all the previous episodes, smart arsed remarks and some below standard actors. Emelia fox is waisted in the new production.
Who sings the sound of silence on the trailer.
