The Muppets have been a feature on television and film for many years, but 2011’s The Muppets marked the franchises first outing on the big screen in 12 years. A teaser trailer for the sequel, Muppets Most Wanted has been released, with the film set to open in March 2014.
The newest film will follow the Muppets as they caper around the world. While the first film featured Jason Seagal and Amy Adams, this time the Muppet characters will have Ricky Gervais as their human company.
The trailer shows few details of the film itself, instead using fake twitter names and hashtags to create fake recommendations about the film. A short shot of Kermit the frog standing on the top of Ricky Gervais’s head in what looks like the middle of a musical number (Gervais is dressed in a white dinner suit) hints towards some very interesting moments in the film.
Muppets Most Wanted will be released in the UK 28th March 2014.
