Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, has confirmed in an interview with Fortune that a stage adaptation of Frozen is set to become a reality.
There is no team in place for the creation of the Broadway musical as of yet, but Iger claims in the interview that: “We’re not demanding speed. We’re demanding excellence”.
It is no wonder that Disney want to extend Frozen‘s success over even more platforms, with the film making over $700 million worldwide and the soundtrack securing top spot on the US Billboard.
Frozen‘s success has made it the second most successful Disney film (independent of Pixar), next to The Lion King. It is safe to say that the film has proved its worth for a place in Disney’s all-time greats.
Frozen, released in the UK earlier last month, also picked up the award for Best Animated Feature Film at the Golden Globes last Sunday.
