Residents of Woolton Hill are being disturbed by noise from helicopters ferrying celebrities including Beyoncé and Jay Z.
Several celebrities are believed to have visited the small village – located 35 miles north of Southampton – which is home to former hedge fund manager Noam Gottesman. The businessman is thought to frequently invite high-profile stars to his Burley estate leading local residents to become frustrated by the noisy helicopters which the guests take to and from his home.
Villagers are thought to have become irritated due to the irregular flights late at night and in the early hours of the morning. Basingstoke and Dean Borough Council have said that they have not received any complaints about the flights, but that they are looking into whether the helipad received planning permission.
Mr Gottesman who also has a home in New York previously dated Charlie’s Angels actress Lucy Liu, and is listed on the Forbes 400 list of richest people in America, reportedly worth over $1.7 billion. In 2008, Gottesman hit headlines when he sold his London home for £117 million, making it the world’s most expensive home at the time.
It is thought that Beyoncé had been on a visit to the tycoon’s house in April of last year, when she stopped off at the local Mothercare in Newbury to pick up some essentials for her baby, Blue Ivy.
Last week, Beyoncé completed her 16-date UK tour with four shows at the O2 in Dublin. Her Mrs Carter tour is now continuing around Europe.
