Welcome back to your latest round up of all the brilliant films we’re showing for you at your student cinema.
This week looks to be awesome with All Is Lost, Much Ado About Nothing, our Indiana Jones Movie Marathon as well as The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Last Vegas rounding off the week.
So let’s get started.
Tuesday 18th March at 7pm: All Is Lost
Nominated for several awards and winner of a Golden Globe, All Is Lost tells the compelling story of a sailor who has to face all the odds to stay alive following a collision at sea with a shipping container. Leaving him in a difficult situation to say the least, he has to get back to shore on a boat with a whole host of problems.
In this, Robert Redford provides another moving portrayal in, what is turning out to be, a critics’ favourite. Not one to be missed!
Wednesday 19th March at 7.30pm: Much Ado About Nothing
A modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic tale, Much Ado About Nothing is our film this week in partnership with Phoenix.
A classic story of sparring lovers Beatrice and Benedick, it is a story that contains a dark, mad and sexy look at love. A hit with the audience and the critics alike, top up your cultural kudos with this brilliantly told story.
Friday 21st March at 7pm: Indiana Jones Trilogy Movie Marathon
In case you haven’t heard (and frankly, where have you been?) our next movie marathon is upon us. This time, it is the Indiana Jones trilogy, so as to say Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade.
So join us for a night with the famous archaeologist and adventurer for a mere £7.50 or £6 for pass holders. As usual, we’re throwing in an exclusive event T-shirt for free, The Café will be serving food throughout the night and the bar will be selling themed drinks. Prizes can also be won for the best fancy dress. All good reasons to not miss this event for anything!

Sunday 23rd March at 5pm: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Following all the madness of Indiana Jones, our next film of the week is a more heart warming affair. Walter Mitty has a boring anonymous life working as a photo manager at Time magazine. His escape is through the medium of day-dreams where heroism, action and romance are well and truly alive. When an important negative goes missing, his job is put on the line sparking him to embark on an adventure to track down an elusive photographer.
The perfect tonic for the end of the weekend, Ben Stiller will leave you mystified.
Sunday 23rd March at 8pm: Last Vegas
We leave you laughing this week with comedy Last Vegas. Featuring an enviable list of Hollywood heavyweights, mainly Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline, it is simple, honest cinematic goodness.
Four old friends gather to throw a bachelor party in Las Vegas for their one friend who has yet to remain single. Need we say more? It’s all the ingredients for a thoroughly enjoyable watch, so don’t miss out.
Tickets for all of these films are available at the Box Office and remember to keep up to date with all things Union Films right here, on our website, or on Facebook and Twitter. You can also find out the winners of our Captain America trailer competition there, or on our blog.
