Katy Perry has released the video for her current single, ‘Birthday’. This is her fourth single from Prism following on from ‘Roar’, ‘Unconditionally’ and ‘Dark Horse’. The new video is an 8-minute epic, featuring a completely unrecognisable Katy dressed up in 5 different costumes as the ‘worlds worst party entertainers’, and attending birthday parties where the guests don’t know she’s Katy Perry.
The opening to video reads ‘In April 2014, Katy Perry attended 5 birthday parties…only no one knew it was her’, and then we’re introduced to her 5 alter egos: the exotic dancer Goldie (because of her golden nuggets), Yosef Shulem the MC, Kriss The (drunk) Clown, Ace The Animal Trainer and Princess Mandee.
Katy’s often created wacky and wonderful videos, such as the cameo-ridden ‘Last Friday Night’ and the cinematic ‘The One Who Got Away’, but this is truly her best yet. You can watch the video in all it’s glory below:
