‘Chicago’, a new track to feature on Michael Jackson’s upcoming posthumous album, Xscape, has been revealed.
The new track, originally entitled ‘She Was Lovin’ Me’, was recorded in 1999 and was planned to feature on the Invincible album but didn’t make the cut.
‘Chicago’ has been produced by Timbaland, who “contemporized” the track, the whole essence of the upcoming album which features a variety of producers.
“Jackson sings in his lower register in the verses over an ominous beat, slowly painting a story of an illicit affair, before unleashing a torrent of pain and regret in the chorus,” the album liner notes say about the track.
Xscape, which will feature ‘Chicago’ and seven more unreleased songs, is due for release May 13.
