The BBC have released a teaser trailer for the second series of The Fall. The drama stars Gillian Anderson as DI Stella Gibson and follows her hunt for serial killer Paul Spector, played by New Worlds and Once Upon a Time star Jamie Dornan.
The series premiered last year on BBC Two and became the channel’s most successful drama series launch in eight years. Series two has recently finished filming in Northern Island and it will reportedly pick up where the first series left off, with Gibson getting closer to catching Spector as he flees the area with his family.
This is not the first trailer to land featuring Dornan this month. Last week he was seen in the first trailer for Sam Taylor Wood’s big screen version of erotic bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey (released in cinemas February 2015). Though not confirmed, it has been speculated the BBC has released the trailer for The Fall early in order to coincide with the publicity surrounding Dornan’s upcoming performance as the billionaire love-interest, Christian Grey.
Although a date is yet to be confirmed, The Fall is likely to return in the lead-up to Christmas on BBC Two after post-production has been completed. If this is the case, it makes this trailer one of the earliest teasers the BBC has put out for an original drama series. Watch the trailer below:
