Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on to produce American Wolf.
The film, an adaptation of Nate Blakeslee’s book, will chronicle the life and death of the alpha female canis lupus, O-Six; the famous leader of of a wolfpack at Yellowstone National Park.
Blakeslee’s angle on the story will be the success of the conservation movement around O-Six who was shot by an unidentified hunter in 2010 which led to calls for new hunting regulations.
Although the book is yet to be completed, The Wolf of Wall Street star has already committed to take on the role as producer.
DiCaprio will be assisted by Kevin McCormick who produced Gangster Squad. No further details have been announced.
