Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds recently released a brand new short-form video entitled Ride the Tiger. It is basically the full visual story of the band’s three music videos, for the songs ‘The Death of You and Me’, ‘AKA… What a Life!’ and ‘If I Had a Gun…’ from their debut self-titled album. From the beginning Gallagher and his record label Sour Mash have spoken of a continuing story in the music videos, and it has now come to fruition with the release of the latest video for ‘If I Had a Gun…’.
The 20-minute video is pretty cool, well shot, and features some… interesting acting (including a typically insane performance from Gallagher’s good friend Russell Brand). I don’t exactly know what the story is, but I’m sure it’s deep and meaningful and one day I’ll figure it out, but for now I’ll just enjoy the well-paced and retro-looking piece for what it is: a change of pace from the usual boring music videos on offer these days.
