As we come to the end of freshers’ week, the start of term provides a perfect opportunity to check out some of the city’s cultural venues. Here’s what’s happening this week…

The Mayflower
The big event of the week is the return of the ever-popular Slava’s Snow Show. The show runs from October 1st to October 5th.

Billed as being ‘unlike anything you will have ever seen’, the piece is a popular and returning one for the theatre. The show, which gives audiences a taste of a ‘dream-like world which will touch both your heart and funny-bone’, has now been performed in over 80 cities around the globe including New York, Los Angeles, Paris and London.

Students are able to get tickets for £15 three hours prior to the performance on opening night (1st October). They are entitled to £5 off for Wednesday and Thursday’s evening performances.

The Nuffield
As I said last week, it’s all about comedy at The Nuffield right now. On Saturday 5th, the theatre is hosting The Comedy Bar – BIG GIG featuring John Robins, Ellie Taylor, Rob Deering and Pete Firman.

A show which has sold out every year to date, it promises to leave you clutching your sides and rolling in the aisles.

Student tickets are still available for £10 from The Nuffield website or in person from the box office.
