We have another exciting news piece on the gaming front today, as earlier this week Ubisoft announced that Trials Frontier, a free game from RedLynx is now exclusively available worldwide on the App Store. This is the first time that the Trials series has come to mobile devices, with the original format being on Windows and Macintosh computers nearly 15 years ago.
Trials is a platform racing game that has been highly successful since its original release as a PC game in 2000. The sequel, Trials 2, was released in 2007 and subsequently remade a year later as a Second Edition. After this, it was released on console games in high Definition, with Trials HD coming to the Xbox Live Arcade in 2009 and Trials Evolution in 2012. Accompanying the release of Trials Frontier on mobile devices, it has also been announced that Trials Fusion will be available to a wider range of next-generation consoles including Xbox360, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this week on April 16th and on Windows PC next week on 24th April. Cross-platform interaction will also be available between these two new titles in order to gain access to bonus rider equipment and get a glimpse at some older tracks.
Trials Frontier transports players to the future where they find themselves in a run-down town in need of a hero. Players can practice their biking skills, learn how to race and carry out cool tricks and manoeuvres such as back flips. They will be able to unlock new tracks and earn gear for their bikes by successfully completing tracks and doing tricks. Missions to help the townsfolk will be a key part of gameplay in order to overthrow the town villain, Butch. As players progress through the game they will be able to unlock new maps, tracks, bikes and improve their racing skills. Trials Frontier will receive regular post-launch updates as downloadable content that includes new bikes, missions and the introduction of infinite multiplayer brawls to keep players competing and racing. Players can with friends through time challenges, leader board sharing capabilities and social network integration to compete with other players.
Trials Frontier is available now as a digital download app.
