Glasgow-based alternative rock band Frightened Rabbit will be commencing their UK tour tonight at The Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth, with support acts coming from Wintersleep and Washington Irving.
The tour consists of an impressive 15 dates at some of the best venues in the country and will be finishing up in Scotland at the end of the month. The band will then be flying over to America to continue touring all through March and April. Impressive, and rightly so, as their recently released fourth album, Pedestrian Verse, is a fantastic record, with notable single ‘The Woodpile’ being very warmly received by many music critics, and radio station airwaves. The accompanying video, filmed in New York, is well worth a watch too (see below).
Lead singer Scott Hutchinson sings with charming and catchily distinctive vocals, which comprise somewhat sorrowful and brutally honest lyrics. With additional complimentary harmonies, solid drumming, humming guitars, their music is certainly one that cannot be missed out on.
The Edge will be interviewing Frightened Rabbit at the venue, so please feel free to comment with questions below!
The gig is very close to selling out – tickets are £12 and can be purchased here.
