On the 20th January Bristol-based gothic punks Ashestoangels will descend on Southampton once more to shake the foundations of the Joiners in a one-off show before they knuckle down to record their third album.
They’re a band who are notorious for putting on a real performance with their live shows, and this one promises to be no exception. For anyone who’s never seen Ashestoangels live before, expect complete disregard for life and limb from the band onstage, an incredibly passionate crowd and all-round energy levels that rival a red-bull addicted kangaroo. All this is accompanied by some brilliant, catchy rock songs from their latest album With Tape and Needles. If you like Aiden, AFI or Marilyn Manson, you’ll probably love Ashestoangels as well.
Support comes courtesy of a selection of local rock talent, with a variety of sub-genres and levels of heaviness being catered for. Bands set to play include These Days Are Numbered, Infamous Nobody and Awake the Wounded, so even if you’re not into the dramatic gothic end of rock there should be something for you. Overall, it promises to be a great opportunity to see a selection of good local bands, catch a blistering live show, have a fun night out and support everybody’s favourite spit and sawdust music venue, The Joiners.
