The international indie group The Boxer Rebellion, who released their fourth album Promises back in May of last year, will be embarking on a 10-date tour across the UK and Ireland, beginning on Monday 3rd February at Southampton’s Brook.
Gaining support slots with bands such as Biffy Clyro and Editors, their sound has been compared favourably to The National, British Sea Power and The Bends-era Radiohead, combining elements of post-rock sonic texture, post-Britpop introspection and alternative rock anthemia.
The four-piece also have a celebrity endorsement courtesy of Simon Pegg, who in an interview with Q magazine described them as “grand indie meets Sigur Rós”; the band have also caught the attention of several music supervisors, with their music featuring in several major TV shows and on the soundtrack to video game Batman: Arkham City.
In short, if you’re a fan of introverted, thoughtfully constructed indie rock, then this is the band to see.
Support comes courtesy of singer-songwriter Christof.
