Famous for her raw powerful voice and rhythm guitar, American folk rock singer Lissie, (Elisabeth Corrin Maurus) is back in the UK for a few weeks after the release of her latest album Back to Forever. Back in 2010 she was named Paste magazine’s No.1 best new solo artist, the same year she released her debut album Catching a Tiger and since then she has toured the States, Norway, Germany and the UK and is back this March by popular demand for her British fans.
The tour starts in Edinburgh on 9th March and finishes in London at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on March 18th stopping along the way at Birmingham, Oxford, Cambridge, Sheffield and Brighton. She will be supported by Norma Jean Martine, a singer from New York who has also supported the likes of James Arthur and Nina Persson from The Cardigans, and whose debut single ‘No Gold’ has already been a huge success.
Lissie’s most famous songs include ‘Cuckoo’, ‘Everywhere I Go‘, ‘Further Away (Romance Police)’ and ‘Shameless’. She has performed some of these in the Radio 1’s Live Lounge and a number of her songs have featured in films and TV shows. Most famously she has toured with huge acts such as Ellie Goulding and Snow Patrol and in 2012 produced an amazing cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Go Your Own Way‘ which was used in a Twinings advert.
A down to earth, laidback girl whose songs are full of fiery attitude and earthy, breath-taking vocals, it is all about the music with Lissie. There will be no over-the-top lighting displays or costume changes like most mainstream artists, just an intimate gig where you will see an average girl with an amazing talent. If you enjoy live music and extraordinary vocals, Lissie is a must see!
