Friday 25th and Saturday 26th will see the arrival of some of the world’s most talented DJs and electronic artists upon Long Marston Airfield in Stratford-upon-Avon for one of the UK’s most acclaimed dance music festivals, Global Gathering. For those looking for a unique dance festival experience, Global Gathering boasts a wide selection of UK-exclusive performances for 2014, including big names such as David Guetta, Krewella, and The Prodigy.
Thanks to a formidable combination of main-stage headliners – the ever popular Chase & Status on Friday, and big beat legends The Prodigy on Saturday – Global Gathering ups the ante with acts renowned for consistently delivering ferocious and energetic live sets. If neither of these two take your fancy, Global Gathering offers a plethora of tents hosted by some of the most respected names in dance music, so that most people will be able to find an act to satisfy amongst the likes of MK, Jamie Jones, David Rodigan, Maya Jane Coles, and High Contrast.
Festival-goers can look forward to a selection of stellar tents hosted by some of the most well-respected collectives in dance and electronic music, including Radio1 and 1Xtra, UKF, Defected Records, Circus Records, and Hospital Records. One of the real standouts being the Radio 1 Essential Mix tent headlined by Eric Prydz, but made unmissable by some of the back-to-back team ups organisers have managed to arrange, including Pete Tong playing back-to-back with Eats Everything, and Paul Woolford alongside Route 94.
Thanks to the popularity of its new hidden venue last year, The Bunker will make a return this year, bigger and better. A subterranean stage, The Bunker creatively utilizes the Airfield’s inherent assets to enhance the production, and a similar idea is being applied with the addition of a new mega stage named The Hangar. With a cheeky nod to Stratford’s heritage, the VIP area will take inspiration from a certain William Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, a theme that certainly provides plenty of potential for a very special experience.
