Benjamin Garrett, more famously known as Fryars, joins long-term acquaintance Rae Morris on a 12-date UK tour, including a date at Portsmouth’s own Wedgewood Rooms. The Londoner is making a name for himself with his emotive lyrics, implying fantasy rather than reality, coupled with a variety of musical elements.
The recent release of his second album Power, which has been five years since his debut due to record label uncertainty, features the impressive tracks ‘Love So Cold’ and ‘Cool Like Me’. Signed to Fiction Records, Fryars is a promising act for 2015, and will continue to be an exciting artists with plenty of collaborations under his belt.
Fryars will be supporting Rae Morris, who is another of those singer-songwriters to have built on their experiences playing on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds. The Blackpool-raised singer released her debut album this year, Unguarded, which went straight into the top 10 of the UK Album Charts – a major achievement considering how under the radar and grounded she has kept herself.
