In This Moment are a band well known in the US for their jaw-dropping shows, and now they’re bringing their critically acclaimed ‘Black Widow’ tour to UK shores at the beginning of March.
The tour is in support of the band’s newest album, also called ‘Black Widow’, and it’s a fascinating and genre-straddling beast; combining electronica, metal and gothic rock into one seriously unusual and polished musical chimera, with the whole intoxicating concoction underpinned by front woman Maria Brink’s haunting vocals. The band’s live show is as unusual as their music, and anyone who goes to see them can expect an experience that combines cabaret style set pieces and costume changes, theatrical showmanship and the electric, raucous, atmosphere of a rock show.
Of course, a show as good as this needs some decent support acts to work the crowd into a frenzy, and In This Moment have that covered too. Joining them on the Black Widow tour are cinematic American rockers Starset, with their trademark epic ‘Muse meets Queen’ sound and home-grown heroes Fearless Vampire Killers, who’re a worthy addition to a strong bill with their operatic Goth rock. And if you do happen to miss Fearless Vampire Killers on this tour, you can catch them headlining the Obsidian Stage at Southampton Uni’s very own Takedown Festival on 7th March.
