Birdy is a British singer and songwriter, whose musical career started when she was just 12. After winning the music competition Open Mic UK at 12, she went on to record a cover of Bon Iver’s ‘Skinny Love’ at age 14 which kicked off her global success. That cover went on to be featured on BBC Radio 1’s B-list playlist, The Vampire Diaries and she was even invited on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to sing it.
She released her debut album of cover songs, and 1 original song, in November 2011, peaking at No. 13 in the UK and No. 1 in Belgium, The Netherlands and Australia. She released her second studio album, Fire Within, in September 2013, which got positive reviews. She also contributed three songs to the soundtrack for The Fault in our Stars – ‘Tee Shirt’, ‘Best Shot’ and ‘Not About Angels’, and went on to contribute to The Hunger Games soundtrack with ‘Just a Game’. For Record Store Day she released a limited edition vinyl of ‘Lost It All’ and ‘Take You Everywhere I Go’.
