Philadelphia based pop-punk/emo band Modern Baseball are set to tour the UK in February 2017 and will stop off at Southampton’s 1865 on February 12th.
Having played a handful of smaller UK shows in August-September of 2016, including the Reading & Leeds Festival, Modern Baseball will be embarking on a larger scale tour this time around. Along with the 1865, the band will be playing the Bierkeller in Bristol on the 13th, Riverside in Newcastle on the 14th, the SWG3 in Glasgow on the 16th, and Academy 2 in Manchester on the 17th, before finishing up at the O2 Forum in London on the 18th. Support will be provided by fellow Philadelphia bands The Superweaks and Thin Lips.
Since the release of their DIY-style debut album Sports in 2012, Modern Baseball have developed a fervent underground cult following in the resurgent American emo scene and have extensively toured both Sports and their sophomore album You’re Gonna Miss It All. With their newest album, Holy Ghost – read our review here – the band have evolved and refined their sound and produced their most critically acclaimed material to date. All this whilst still retaining their passionate fans and their relationship with them and keeping themselves firmly grounded, despite their growing fame.
Renowned for their exciting and hugely entertaining live shows, Modern Baseball’s reputation can surely only grow as they keep themselves strongly on track as one the best young punk bands around.
