Acclaimed American rock band Jimmy Eat World will be returning to the O2 Guildhall in Southampton in early November as part of their Integrity Blues tour, after their new album Integrity Blues is released on October 21st.
Integrity Blues marks the iconic emo-rock band’s ninth studio album, having formed in 1993 and finding commercial success and recognition with their fourth studio album Bleed American in 2001. Bleed American soundtracked many adolescents’ lives at the time, with hit singles like ‘Bleed American’, ‘Sweetness’ and ‘The Middle’ finding commercial and critical acclaim, the latter becoming one of the most iconic rock songs of the 21st Century.
Launched into the alt-rock stratosphere, their sixth album Chase This Light, released in 2007, became the band’s highest charting album, peaking at number five on the Billboard 200. Preceded and followed by extensive touring, the band would go on to release two more studio albums and embark on an anniversary tour celebrating the tenth anniversary of Futures.
Acting as a bridge between pop-punk and emo-rock, and unafraid to play jump-rope with the line between feel-good tunes and slower, deeper jams, Jimmy Eat World’s ninth album is promised to be a meaningful snapshot of the stage the band is in currently, a new chapter with its roots grounded deep in its own influences.
Jimmy Eat World’s Southampton show is on the 4th November. You can buy tickets for their tour on their website here or ring up Southampton O2 Guildhall’s box office number on 023 8063 2601. Listen to their new track, ‘You Are Free’ below, taken from Integrity Blues.
