The Rifles, an English indie-rock band, released their first studio album No Love Lost in 2006 after their formation 13 years ago. Before this, however, they had released a 7″ demo of ‘Peace & Quiet’ and several singles through various record labels.
Since then, they have released four other studio albums. Their most recent LP – a double album – Big Life, was released in August of this year and includes singles ‘Numero Uno’, ‘Wall Around Your Heart’ and ‘Turtle Dove’.
The Rifles have been likened to The Smiths and The Streets, with a lot of their sound being derived from punk and indie music, making for an smooth but upbeat sound that is on a similar level to The Jam.
The band are currently in the UK leg of their European tour to promote Big Life having played in a number of venues including KOKO London and Melkweg in Amsterdam. They’ll be heading to Southampton’s Engine Rooms tomorrow (3rd November).
Tickets to the rest of their tour can be found here.
