Although the festival has only been around for a few years, Common People has already attracted thousands of people due to its popularity, and this year is sure to be no different. Rob da Bank, creator of Bestival, has exceeded expectations and this year is looking to be better than ever with its diverse and ambitious line-up.
Last year’s fantastic line-up at Southampton Common included Craig David, Katy B, and Duran Duran, while this year, the festival will be headlined by Pete Tong and Sean Paul who share the weekend across Southampton and sister-site Oxford. Pete Tong will be presenting Ibiza Classics on Saturday night, with Sean Paul closing the event promising a performance of some of his latest material such as his collaboration with Dua Lipa on ‘No Lie’ and of course classic hits from older records Dutty Rock and The Trinity.
As well as the Main Stage, Common People’s Uncontained stage will be featuring Moxie Pres. On Loop and My Nu Leng, with the Uncommon Stage presenting Beans on Toast, which will no doubt attract a substantial crowd.
The festival will have a variety of street food from world cuisines, the world’s biggest bouncy castle, a selection of bars and Nuffield Theatre pop-up shows, so there’s something for everyone.
Common People takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend (27-28th May) at Southampton Common.
