Common People launch competition to perform at festival

This is your big chance to bag a slot at the brand new festival, Common People! Brought to you by the Bestival team, Common People, a two-day metropolitan adventure, set in the leafy surrounds of Southampton Common, is launching a fantastic competition. We want to find the best south coast band, singer or act, and give them a spot playing at our inaugural outing on May Bank Holiday, 23rd-24th May.

To apply, you need to upload one track to our Soundcloud page by 15th February. Once you’ve uploaded your opus, send an email to [email protected] with a maximum of 100 words telling the Bestival team why you want to play Common People. And don’t forget to include your act name, number of members, your location and your social media links.

All submissions will be listened to and, by 17th February, the favourites will be notified and then invited to one of the competition finals at the Joiners in Southampton, either on Tuesday 10th March or Sunday 22nd March.

The competition finals will be judged by Common People curator and all-round new music champion, Rob da Bank, and an expert team of music lovers. Two winners chosen by our esteemed panel will get the unbelievable chance to play at the first ever Common People in the new music tent, run in conjunction with the Joiners crew.

So what are you waiting for? Head to Soundcloud and get uploading now!
